Festive Food Bank & City Plan Consultation survey

Dear Parents, Carers and Guardians

Festive Food Bank Fundraiser

Our wonderful Student Union has organised a Festive Food Bank Fundraiser during the upcoming festive season. If you would like to contribute, items of perishable food can be donated at the Reception, Canteen and the Library which will then go to Hollingdean and Five Ways Food bank which supports the local community and has in the past year, distributed over 1000 food parcels.  Here is a link with ideas on what the food bank needs most. The last day to receive donations is 11.00am on Tuesday 17 December.

City Plan Consultation survey

We are a member of Brighton & Hove Citizens,  an alliance of civil society organisations working together to build power and give our students, staff, and families a chance to shape what happens across the city.

As an alliance, we're currently focusing on the need to reshape housing policies to ensure that genuine affordability is put at the heart of decisions made by council officials. This is because we want to ensure that:

  • Young people can afford to live in the city they love in the future
  • Teachers can afford to live in the city where they work
  • Families don't feel the need to move out of our city due to skyrocketing costs

Please take 3 minutes to complete this short survey, the results of which will be presented to Council officials in the new year. The deadline for submission of the survey is Thursday 19 December.  If you wish to find out more about Brighton & Hove Citizens, go to www.citizensuk.org/chapters/brighton-hove

Thank you very much for your kind consideration.

Yours sincerely
