UCAS Personal Statement Writing Day - 25 June

Dear Parent/Carer,

Tomorrow - Tuesday 25 June - Varndean College is holding the annual Personal Statement Writing Day.

17 universities have been invited to attend in our main hall to help students with planning their UCAS Personal Statement (part of the university application form).

All Year 1 students have the link to sign up (I last sent it at approx 5.30pm yesterday if they want to search for it in their inbox).

The email they were sent is below. If they are interested in applying to university, even if they are taking a gap year, we run this event only once a year so please could you encourage them to make the most of this opportunity.

Many thanks

Cordelia Dobbie, Careers Manager

Dear student

Here is the Google Form to choose your time slot(s):https://forms.gle/A6kcd1eQajEHhn1A9

If it doesn't open, make sure you are signed into Google.

Personal Statement Writing Day is Tuesday 25 June.

You can sign up for a:

  • Personal Statement Workshop to get an idea of what to include and what to leave out, these workshops will be in the new Quad Rooms (3 & 4).
  • Education Section Workshopto get the trickiest part of the UCAS form filled out before summer. It will really help you if you photograph your GCSE certificates so you have the correct exam boards and grades for this workshop.
  • Personal Statement 1:1s You can chat to a university (perhaps with a friend) about your ideas. If you have a first drt, bring it alongso they can make notes on it, or just come with a subject that interests you

I hope you have a really good day.

Cordelia
