Dear Parent /Carer or Guardian

On Tuesday 24 June all Year 1 students have been invited to attend a University Information Day.

Students who attend will hear talks on 'Student Finance', 'How to Writea Good Personal Statement', 'How to Research Courses' and 'Student Life'. In addition, theywill be able to choose a subject talk/taster from a list of over 40 subjects. The purpose of the day is twofold; to provide information and adviceto students who already know they want to go to university but also to help students who are not yet sure about their route beyond Varndean to consider if university might be an option that might suit them. We are not suggesting all our students should go to university, but we do want to provide them with equal exposure and experiencesso they can decide one way or the other.

If they haven't already, please remind them to complete the Google Form they were emailed again from me on Monday - this allows them to confirm their attendance and select their subject taster. The Google Form will close at 12 midday on Friday 6 Juneas the Careers team will then need to provide universities with final numbers of students for each taster.
