Dear Parents and Carers, As we move into the summer examination season, I am writing to share with you the message I have sent to your young person, wishing them well as they begin their exams and final assessments. In that message, I acknowledged that for some students, particularly those studying Creative Arts, this process is already underway, while for many others the main exam period is about to begin. IB students have been on exam leave since Monday, with their first exams taking place from tomorrow 24 April. I also reminded students of the importance of taking care of themselves, staying focused, and making full use of the support available to them. I have also attached a detailed letter from James Gordon, Deputy Principal, which sets out the full arrangements for the exam period. I encourage you to read this, and I would particularly draw your attention to the key dates outlined below:
Results Days:
Throughout this period, lessons and revision sessions will continue, and students are expected to attend all timetabled sessions unless they have an exam scheduled on the same day. A wide range of additional support remains available, including subject revision sessions, 1:1 guidance from personal tutors, and wellbeing support. The College is here to do whatever we can to support students through their exams. If your young person would benefit from additional wellbeing support, they can access the Wellbeing Space in Room 14.1 or contact the team via wellbeingzone@varndean.ac.uk. For any exam-related queries, please use exam@varndean.ac.uk. Thank you, as always, for your continued support. With very best wishes, Donna-Marie Janson |
