Parent Event at University of Brighton
Dear Parent/Carer,
Every Year University of Brighton hold free talks for Parents of students in Year 12 who are considering applying to university. Students in Year 12 will be registering with UCAS later this term, will be attending a HE Day at University of Sussex on June 21st and will need to complete their university application form next term if they want to go to university in Sept '19.
On May 16th  6pm-8:30 the university are inviting parents (and students) to their 'Making the Most of the Summer Break' talk. It will include advice and guidance on: writing a strong personal statement; volunteering, work experience; wider reading and a Q&A session with staff and current students. Students do not need to be considering applying to University of Brighton to attend.
The aim of the session is to make sure students are aware of what university admissions staff like to see included on application forms and how to use the summer to 'fill any gaps' and boost student confidence when writing a Personal Statement.
If you are able to and would like to attend this event, please register your interest at:-
Parents who have attended these events previously have come away feeling better able to support their child with understanding the university application process and how to make their child's application as strong as possible.
I do hope to see you there,
Cordelia Dobbie
