|Higher Education Evening for Parents/Carers|
|Dear Parent / Carer
Higher Education Evening for Parents/Carers
Tuesday 27th March 2018
6 – 8.30pm
Is your son / daughter / ward thinking of going to university?
You are invited to our Higher Education information evening for Parents / Carers to find out how the College supports students through the University application process and to provide you with information to support your young person at home.
The evening will include talks and presentations on aspects of applying for HE courses and student finance, with invited speakers from our local Universities, and our own subject tutors. We also have a session on Widening Participation which is a scheme that encourages students from groups currently under-represented in higher education (e.g. students whose parents have not been to university, students with disabilities, young carers and a variety of other reasons) to consider university as an option.
For sessions, please see the reply form (pdf version, word version).
This evening is for parents/carers only, as the material covered will be presented to the students in their Core Studies groups over the spring and summer terms. Information from the evening will be available after the event on the Parents section of the Varndean College website.
If attending, we require a reply - please complete the form (above) and return it to us by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or post by Tuesday 20th March.
We look forward to seeing you there.
